Swimming at Changai airport

There can be no better airport for a traveling webdesigner to be stuck in for 12 hours than Changai Singapore. Feeling disgruntled after shelling out $130 sing dollars excess for my board to Garuda, despite previous information that it would travel free.  After sulking through security, armed with vague directions from Astrid in Sri Lanka, I made it my mission to track down the fabled swimming pool.  It’s tucked away a bit, but what a great idea. (turn right, after security and head for the transit hotel, if your interested) Either head for the shady pagoda, or straight to the sunbeds for the full burn. Take a dip in the pool, read in the jacuzzi, or head to the giant glass wall and watch the planes come and go, strangely therapeutic. Great facilities, all you need is some swimming gear and maybe a splash of sun cream. Quick tip, avoid falling asleep book on chest without aforementioned sun cream, makes for a slightly ridiculous temporary tattoo.

After a quick bite i made use of the free laptop zone, power, ethernet sockets the works, backed with a row of PC with free internet, ideal for site testing. Got so into the work that i almost missed my flight, the perfect place to do a Mehran Karimi Nasseri i guess.
